Safety

Bind

Before you get started, make sure your harness/ belt is properly fixed on your body (also check your buddy). If in doubt, always

follow the instructions of the manufacturer. If everything is fine, you can start binding the rope. This is done as follows:

Take the rope about 1m from the end of a single eight knot.

Pass the end of the rope through the belt. (Read the manual of the belt to make sure you secure right, this may vary by model) Return the rope thrue the eight not so it becomes a double eight knot.

After the knot is tightened, the end of the rope is at least 25 cm to stabbing. This is a simple way to check the end with two hands to hold. If there is still a piece of rope, he is long enough.

As an additional check of the insurer or the node is properly installed and the climber belayer.

Before your starting with climbing please check that all equipment is correctly fitted. If everything has been checked, checks your partner’s  harness and Belay. If both of you have been checked and jou and your partner are proberly fastend at the same rope you can start climbing. Keep while climbing good contact with each other and be specific about what you expect from each other.

Material check

Befor erery climb you have to check all you material. if jou see any damaging on you material do not jus it anymore. If you rope is damaged cutting it on the damage caused by so you can no longer use and prevent accidents.

Storing your equipment after it has become damp/ wet

After you have been climbing in an damp/ moisty surroundig (perhaps even rain), it is very important to keep your gear as dry as possible and make sure you let it dry totally before storing it.
The pictures below show you what happens if you store a wet harness in an air tight box and let it inside there for some weeks.
The damage to the materials happens pretty fast and the result is an harness you have to throw away.

- DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING/ RE-USING MATERIALS THAT LOOK LIKE THIS.

- MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE (WITH LESS EXPERIENCE) CAN USE THESE MATERIALS (DESTROY IT BEFORE THROWING AWAY).
